what is adr  - adr is automated dialogue replacement, this is basically when there is a recorded version of the dialogue in a studio , this can be for a variety of reasons for example , the sound quality is really bad of the recording they already did so they will record a better one over the top of it, it could be recorded in a different language, it could be an animated show or a cartoon so they would have to record there voices because cartoons are just drawings so of course they cant speak unless someones voice is recorded and put over the top of it, so for this task we were told to pick a film scene and do a adr over it, we picked this scene from outer banks and we all recorded our voices and put it over it, we found a script from online to do it  this however the script must have been an older version of it because everything didn't wasn't quite right in the script because the actors where saying different things from what was in it, so it was difficult to record at first because we were saying some wrong longs, which through us off because while recording the video was playing in the background so we could see when to talk and it also still had the audio on, so when your character was speaking yoyucould speak along side them, that. is why it through me off so much when we were saying entirely different things. So we all improvised we waited after our character spokes and just repeated it after them , which was alo a bit changeling because it didn't sync up when they spoke but this is an easy fix in post production. i think the next time i do this i would have to watch the video my self and then write our script that was actually accurate instead of relying on websites that had wrong lines, however we couldn't do it this time around because we didn't have enough time. I am pleased with how my adr video turned out in them but i. know i could have done a better job, i did mine on premier pro because i am very familiar with iut and would find it the most comfortable software to work on, however this is very limiting because you can only layer 3 audios, so i couldn't get everyones voices in which was very annoying because then it would perfect and i should have added in some ambient noises like the car driving to really make this as realistic at possible but again premier pro is quite limiting when it come to adding audio, so next time i think i would just use audition.
