the interview scene
We were asked to take on the role of either a camera man, the recorder (with a zoom h4n recorder) , the person, who recorded with a boom stick and 2 actors. i was the person with the boom stick and i needed to stay out of the scene and record the conversation that was going on it was quite difficult to do because the mic was heaving and i had to hold it still otherwise it would have wind like noises because the mic was moving around so much and we didn't have a dead cat furry so it was very important that there was little to no background noises otherwise it would completely ruin the sound quality. I also needed to decide whether i was going to have the camera above the actors in front of them or below them because we were working in such a tight space the boom stick would have been seen on the camera if i placed it in font of the camera because i had no place to hide my self from the camera, and going above went wrong because it was tiring to hold the boom stick and high and long for too. long and i kept lowering the boom stick ever so slightly it would be in the shot, so i decided to sit and place the microphone under the actors and the boom stick managed to stay out of the scene, and we needed to a couple re shoots because there was lot of people talking in the background that the camera did pick up. Then finally we recorded a take that we were all happy with but despite our best efforts the take still came out really bad because the wire was not to the microphone properly so there was the almost spark sounding noise through out the whole video which could not be detected through the headphones so we had no idea, so the end we ended up using the sound recorded from the camera instead which was not good quality but was better sounding then the ones from the microphone.
